In addition to the suggestions above, The Defeat Diabetes Foundation has put together a 30-day plan for the entire month a April to get healthy which I have included an outline below for your review.
Below is a brief outline of the first 15 days of activity as provided by the foundation. In my next post, I'll provide the remaining 15 days for the rest of April. Check it and no matter what the day is, get started today.
- April 1 - Commit to taking daily challenges
- April 2 - Try a New Food Today. Give asparagus a try
- April 3 – Plan out or begin to plant a garden. This will get you outside and doing physical activity.
- April 4 - Take a Walk
- April 5 - Try a New Food Today. Look for a pineapple in the produce section of your local store.
- April 6 - Take the Stairs
- April 7 – What is your A1c
- April 8 – Park in the back of the parking lot at work or when you go shopping.
- April 9 - Try a New Food Today. – Get some spinach
- April 10 - Try a New Physical Activity
- April 11 - Enjoy the warm spring weather and fly a kite today.
- April 12 - Try a New Food Today. Enjoy some tangerines today
- April 13 - Take the Stairs Tuesday
- April 14 Try a New Food Today. Add a new whole grain bread to your diet.
- April 15 – Park in the back of the parking lot at work or when you go shopping.
