Cherry Juice and Melatonin

Did you know that tart cherries and cherry juice are one of the few known sources of naturally occurring melatonin in Mother Nature. Melatonin is a powerful antioxidant that helps maintain the body’s circadian rhythms. It also helps with natural sleep patterns. A published study conducted by Russell Reiter and his fellow researchs from the University of Texas Health Science Center discovered that tart cherries contain higher amounts of melatonin than normally found in human blood.  (Burkhardt 2001).
