The reason is many of the research studies conducted over the past few years are finally being published and reported on by countless websites and national television medical shows. For example, a few weeks back Dr. Oz mentioned the three health benefits of the tart cherry and cherry juice. These benefits include getting a health night’s sleep, healthy joints and a healthy cardiovascular system. Much of the initial research on the cherry juice and the tart cherry was conducted by Michigan State University. The fruit is a rich source of antioxdiants including melatonin, anthocyanins, vitamin A, C, and E. In addition, according to a study by Dr. Robert Verkerk, a single glass of cherry juice contains as many antioxidants as 23 portions of fruit and vegetables. This means it is a powerful source of antioxidants.
