While many are getting extra exercise while snow shoveling, this may mean the movement experienced is outside of the normal limits of your pain tolerance. When this happens, slow down and take a break to not cause further pain to the joints. Sometimes joint pain can be relieved by enjoying minor stretching and exercising. 8. Take a break and Rest

Sometimes, it is wise to simply take a break and relax after shoveling snow or other activities. Taking some extra time can help to reduce joint pain and help to restore your energy. While doing this consider adding a heating pad or enjoy some cold therapy to further bring the tolerance down.
